WLCJWe are members of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism. Our goal is to perpetuate Conservative Judaism, emphasizing love of family, mitzvot, the Jewish people, and the land of Israel. We are proud to support our individual synagogues, the Jewish Theological Seminary, Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies and the State of Israel.

SisterhoodThe women of Temple Sinai Sisterhood take pride in the following ongoing projects that serve the needs of our Temple:

  • The weekly Kiddushem for Shabbat and other special services
  • Annual Rosh Hashana honey project & Shaloach Manot gift exchange
  • Annual Sukkot congregational luncheon
  • Three times a year Friday night Shabbat dinners
  • Congregational Shalach Manot Purim project
  • Judaica Gift Shop
  • Book Club
  • Mitzvahs
Sunshine Club Join the Sunshine Mitzvah Club and help us do Mitzvahs!

These and other special money-raising programs enable us to:

  • Give sizable financial donations to the Temple
  • Support Torah Fund for the Jewish Theological Seminary
  • Award Camp Reim and Early Childhood Education scholarships
  • Respond to special requests for help throughout the year.

All this while trying to make Sisterhood meaningful, dynamic and vital to her membership with great social programs, educational opportunities, community service projects and lots of fun mixed in.

As for our social action programming (Tekun Olam), we participate bi-monthly in the Inter-Faith Share-a-Meal program for the hungry in Hollywood, collect toys at Chanukah for Jewish Family Services and spearhead the synagogue collection of food each Yom Kippur (Operation Isaiah) that is then distributed to local food pantries.

We encourage those of you who have not yet become Sisterhood members to join us now. Come share your talents and help us forge a stronger and more successful synagogue and a more fulfilled "you". Please contact Lisa Stein Cohen @ lsteincohen@comcast.net and Sharon Burak @ bankermba0822@yahoo.com.

Membership is $25.00 payable to Temple Sinai Sisterhood. You will receive Women's League OUTLOOK magazine and membership in a vital, growing Sisterhood.
