Rabbi Dr. Gideon Goldenholz

Rabbi Goldenholz is the son of Temple Sinai’s Ritual Director Rev. Yitzhak Goldenholz. He is a Member of the Rabbinical Assembly of America and Member of the Broward Board of Rabbis.

He earned a B.S.degree in Industrial Design from Kent State University , Master in Hebrew Literature Cleveland College of Jewish Studies, Ordained Yeshiva Eretz Israel, Doctor of Hebrew Literature Hebrew Theological College. He received his Doctorate in Divinity more recently from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He accepted the position of Rabbi of Temple Sinai in January of 2007.

Prior to that, he served as Spiritual Leader for 21 years in his pulpit at Beth El Ner Tamid synagogue in Wisconsin.His years in Wisconsin were highlighted by numerous accomplishments including: developing a nationally recognized award-winning Hebrew school, President of Interfaith Ministerial Council, publishing prayer books, innovative  programs and successful fundraising campaigns.

His vision for Temple Sinai is to create an inclusive, warm, inviting, egalitarian, creative and Conservative congregational family celebrating diversity.

 To achieve this he is involved in many exciting family oriented events, community building, Adult education, user friendly Services, Youth Services and activities, Hebrew School of excellence and fun, engaging members in a Spiritual path, and helping to discover the joy and celebration of Jewish life.


 

Hazzan Michael Krausman

Hazzan Michael Krausman, a graduate of York University in Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, received his investiture as Hazzan at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York in 1985. There he was awarded the Hammerman prize for Excellence in pulpit performance. More >>

While spending his youth in Toronto, Hazzan Krausman sang in the Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda synagogue choir under the internationally acclaimed Hazzan Louis Danto. Hazzan Krausman studied vocal Technique with Maitland Peters, chairman of the voice faculty of the Manhattan School of Music, and with Dr. Rachel Lebon of the University of Miami. He also studied Hazzanut under Hazzan Daniel Gildar.Prior to assuming the pulpit at Temple Sinai, Hazzan Krausman served congregations in Flushing, New York, and Clark and Rockaway New Jersey. He also served as a consultant and instructor of Bar/Bat Mitzvah students with special needs for the Jewish Education Association (JEA) of Metro West.

Cantor Krausman is the author of My Bar Mitzvah Book, An Interactive Approach to Bar/Bat Mitzvah Training and has published articles in several journals, including a publication for parents of deaf and hard-of-hearing children. He has also produced: A Guide for Shabbat Morning Services, A High Holiday Companion, A Companion for Friday Evening Services, which is also available in Spanish, and the Temple Sinai of Hollywood Minyan Companion.

Hazzan Krausman has made numerous concert appearances. He as also has participated in communal Holocaust memorial services in Florida as well in New Jersey.

In 2004 Hazzan Krausman together with his wife Laurel were chosen as Temple Sinai's Dinner- Dance Journal honorees for their tireless and loving dedication to the synagogue community. In addition to chanting services each Shabbat and on holidays, the Cantor is intricately involved in all of the Temple's education programs, working with members of all ages, from our toddlers in pre-school to senior members in our adult education program.

The Cantor and Laurel have two children, Zev aged 7 and Zach aged 3.

 

Itzhak Goldenholz, Ritual Director Emeritus

Reverend Yitzchak Goldenholz was born 1917 in Egypt. At the age of one he returned to his family’s native Jerusalem where he grew up, studied, got married, raised a family and worked in Israel. In 1962 he moved with his family to the United States where he worked at a synagogue in Ohio. More >>

When his family moved to Florida in 1980, he became the ritual director of Temple Sinai of Hollywood. For almost 30 years he has been the primary Torah reader, taught many Bar/Bat Mitzvah students and leads the Temple’s daily minyan.  Rev. Yitzhak, as this wonderful man is known to everyone, is considered to be a “Talmid Chacham” or person of great wisdom to whom many people come for sage advice, comfort and a listening ear. He is a true mensch, loved, admired and respected by all. The Temple Sinai family considers him a loving father, not only of his own family, but to the extended congregational family as well.
