A native Israeli Sabra, Mr. Cuperman joined the Temple Sinai family in 2004, having previously been the Executive Director of Congregation Ahavath Sholom in Fort Worth, TX. Prior to that experience, Ben served as Executive Director of Shaare Zedek Congregation in Montreal, Canada.
Ben moved with his family to Montreal in 1961 when he was 10 years old. He returned to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces when he was 23 years old and there he met his Romanian-born Israeli wife, Bianca. The couple later returned to Canada. Married for 29 years, Ben and Bianca have two grown children, a son Ronen, 23, and a daughter Leetal, 26.
While on vacation in South Florida several years ago, Ben and his wife decided they needed to make the dream of living in the tropics come true. Ben brings to Temple Sinai a broad array of assets including an extensive background in synagogue executive leadership, as well as computer and network experience which is being put to good use as the Temple undergoes upgrades to its information technology systems. As Ben gets down to business at Temple Sinai, he is already at work infusing his enthusiasm for his own Jewish roots into the community by reaching out to the many unaffiliated Israelis in the Hollywood community so that they too might find a home at Temple Sinai.
Aside from his many duties as Executive Director, Ben's numerous hobbies include motorcycling, choral singing, amateur radio, and ballroom dancing. Ben is also a private pilot.
Any questions or comments regarding the Temple and its operations can be directed to Ben Cuperman at (954) 987-0026 or ben@sinaihollywood.org.
